Ryan Ernst, Psy.D., MSCP, ABN


2002

Dr. Ernst began private practice at Nebraska Comprehensive Healthcare

2011

After several years in private practice he joined Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in 2011 where he served as staff neuropsychologist for the adult traumatic brain injury unit until December of 2019.

2012

Dr Ernst started Neuro Health P.C., a private practice specializing in the delivery of clinical psychology services, neuropsychology and medicolegal forensic services

2019

He began working for Clarinda Regional Health Center in Iowa and eventually became the first psychologist in Iowa ever to be licensed to practice psychiatric medicine.

2022

Dr Ernst was hired by Drake University as a professor of pharmacology and as director of training for a new program to train medical psychologists.

2023

Neuro Health P.C. began contracting psychological services with Pine Lake Behavioral Health & Medical in Nebraska and Idaho Neuropsychology in Boise.


Dr. Ernst was also elected by his peers across the nation in 2023 to serve as the next President of the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology.

Over the years Dr. Ernst has been a consulting psychologist for several television news broadcasts and has presented at numerous professional conferences across the country and internationally. Dr. Ernst is involved in the profession of neuropsychology at a national level by serving on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology where he was elected by his peers to become president of the organization beginning in 2025. He also serves on the Training Directors Council for Division 55 of the American Psychological Association.

    This type of evaluation is used to evaluate functioning of the brain and an individual's mental health.  Most commonly, these types of evaluations are used to assist in the settlement of personal injury lawsuits, competency hearings and Worker's Compensation claims.  

  • Who needs this type of evaluation?

    Reasons for referral can be for any illness or injury that effects functioning of the brain. Common reasons include:

    • Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other forms of dementia

    • Metabolic, toxic and other forms of encephalopathy

    Dr. Ernst provides telehealth services only through this website.  Those wishing to be seen in person should call Pine Lake Behavioral Health & Medical in Nebraska or Clarinda Regional Health Center in Iowa.

  • Do you take insurance?

    For telehealth services, private pay is the only option for payment though fees are reasonable for the type of services rendered.  You can submit a receipt for services to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

  • How do I get a medication refill?

    Please notify your pharmacy and they will contact us.  Please allow up to 48 hours for medication refills.
