  • What is a Forensic Neuropsychological Evaluation?

    This type of evaluation is used to evaluate functioning of the brain and an individual's mental health.  Most commonly, these types of evaluations are used to assist in the settlement of personal injury lawsuits, competency hearings and Worker's Compensation claims.  

  • Who needs this type of evaluation?

    Reasons for referral can be for any illness or injury that effects functioning of the brain. Common reasons include:


    • Traumatic brain injury/concussion
    • Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other forms of dementia
    • Stroke
    • Brain tumors
    • Metabolic, toxic and other forms of encephalopathy
  • How do I get a forensic evaluation or consultation scheduled?

  • Can I schedule an in-person appointment for evaluation or treatment?

    Dr. Ernst provides telehealth services only through this website.  Those wishing to be seen in person should call Pine Lake Behavioral Health & Medical in Nebraska or Clarinda Regional Health Center in Iowa.

  • Do you take insurance?

    For telehealth services, private pay is the only option for payment though fees are reasonable for the type of services rendered.  You can submit a receipt for services to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

  • How do I get a medication refill?

    Please notify your pharmacy and they will contact us.  Please allow up to 48 hours for medication refills.
